Do You Ever Give Your Coochie a Break?

I rarely wear panties—only when I’m on my period or wearing jeans. And honestly? My coochie thanks me for it every day.

Whenever I do wear underwear, my vulva feels smothered. From a health perspective, wearing panties all day, every day traps moisture against your vulva, creating the perfect environment for bacteria to thrive. This can increase your risk of yeast infections and bacterial vaginosis.

If going commando in public feels too bold, at the very least, let her breathe at night. Sleeping without underwear gives your vulva a much-needed break. And if you must wear panties, go for 100% cotton—something breathable. I know, I know… they’re not always the sexiest, but your vaginal health should always come first, miss mamas.

Now let’s talk fashion. Personally, I think panty lines ruin an outfit—sorry, not sorry. If you’re like me and prefer thongs or G-strings to avoid those lines, be cautious. That string between your cheeks? It can act like a “flosser.” If you haven’t wiped thoroughly, that little string can transfer bacteria from your anus to your vaginal opening as you move, walk, bend, or stretch—hello, infection risk.

Here’s a quick breakdown of the benefits of going panty-free:

  • More airflow = less trapped moisture

  • Reduces risk of yeast infections and BV

  • Improves vulva health during sleep

  • Helps prevent odor caused by sweat and bacteria

  • Avoids irritation from dyes or synthetic fabrics

  • Prevents bacterial transfer from thong friction

  • No panty lines ruining the outfit

Your body, your fashion, your rules. I just want your vagina to stay healthy and happy. So if you don’t already practice going commando, try it tonight. Set her free, sis—you might just love it.
