So rumored has it, Alex slaughtered her entire family with a shotgun in the middle of the night. The police were quick to paint her as the villain of her own story. Tragic, right? A little girl, dragged into trial, forced to relive the bloodiest night of her life, including the loss of her little brother. To make matters worst, the media and streets ate her ass alive. Spoiler alert—she's innocent! Once she was acquitted, Alex disappeared. Ten years of hiding, ten years of silence.
Fast-forward: Alex resurfaces as a private investigator, helping others find justice. Well I'll be damned, one case led her to discovering things about her family's case that she always worked lowkey! And when she finally uncovers the truth? Let’s just say, hell deadass breaks loose!
Charlie Donlea served us a chef’s kiss of a thriller. Past and present blend like champagne and caviar—decadent, addictive, impossible to put down. I stayed up way past midnight turning pages like they were whispered secrets in a darkened hallway. My eyes were burning for 3 days!
Not gon YIIEEE....the opening scene was scary but also, I'm easily frightened.
Final verdict? 10/10/10. My first time with this author, and I’m already obsessed. Consider me a loyal fan. If you usually stick to one genre, this book is the perfect introduction to a thriller! However, I fear Charlie has set the bar in outer space!
This is the best ficition book I've read this year!
Will you be adding this to your library?
Until Next Time,
The Vagina Liberator
