Moth to a Flame Book Review | Love, Loss & Emotional Consequences
Whew… this book took me out. Moth to a Flame is one of the very few books I read in one sitting, and yes, I highly recommend it. I am deeply in my feelings.
Raven Benjamin ignored her father’s warning about Mizan, and that decision cost her everything. Her hunger for womanhood, security, and being “wifey” blinded her to what truly mattered. Chasing an image instead of reality, Raven allowed herself to be pulled from riches to rags, mistaking control for love and danger for devotion.
This story is a painful reminder of what happens when red flags are ignored and validation becomes more important than safety.
My heart aches the most for Ethic and the children. Morgan, at only twelve years old, has witnessed and endured far more than any child should. Bella finally had the chance to experience a mother’s love, and Ethic—after so much loss—finally had love of his own. Watching all of that unravel was heartbreaking.
Moth to a Flame is emotional, raw, and tragic in the most realistic way. It explores love, loss, poor choices, and the collateral damage left behind when passion overrides wisdom.
I already know what’s next—up next, Ethic series which is a spinoff. Right now, though? My feelings are too hurt to continue.
Happy Reading,
The Vagina Liberator
