Body-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody

Cosmetic Surgery has been around since the 16th century! Timmie Jean Lindsey is documented as the first woman to receive silicone breast implants in 1962!

Initially and for many years, white and wealthy women had more access to cosmetic surgery than any other groups. Over the past few decades, that access has been extended to more black women.

And thanks to social media, it is now widely discussed! I actually think that is a good thing.

Regardless of the fact that a BBL (Brazilian Butt Lifts aka Fat Transfers) is the most dangerous surgery, if this is a choice you want to make, do it! Everyone has the right to change parts of self they dislike or want to enhance.

I just have 1 request: do surgery for yourself and not for a man who is shaped like a box chevy!

Here are some tips you may or may not follow, considering I never went under the knife. But they all sound logical to me...

Tips Before Surgery:

  1. Research the surgery you desire and several doctors. Choose a doctor that is board certified.
  2. Have an adequate plan for aftercare (i.e., where will you stay, who will take care of you, and meal plans).
  3. Talk to your PCP about your cosmetic surgery plan. Ensure you are a good candidate and don't have any underlying conditions that may be an issue during your surgery!
  4. Be honest to all medical practitioners involved in your care.
  5. Do your due diligence and complete all pre-surgery requirements.

  6. Bonus: This is not something you want to be cheap about. If the "best" Doctor is out of your budget, save a little longer!

Please understand....your body, your rules! Do what feels good to you!

Prayers to everyone we lost during surgery and post-op!
